Hand and feet casting was quite new to me, so when I saw this, I took the opportunity to collect my first born’s castings (not from Tootsie Toes I must admit!). He was two at the time.
When I had my second son I found that a mummy from the nursery, (Toni, the founder of Tootsie Toes) had started a casting business and wanted to advertise in the setting. I asked her to cast my second son’s hands and feet, as he was reaching the same age when my first son had his. Toni was also happy to take away my first set and make it match the new one she would make for me.
Soon enough, Toni presented me with matching frames with their hand and feet castings, a photo and name plaque. I fell immediately in love with them and they secured a lovely place on my feature wall!
I soon left the nursery and parted ways with Toni. However, after having my third son I was keen to contact Toni to see if she was still in this business. How pleased I was to see that business was booming for her, and as before, she delivered the perfect casts to match the other two.
My story doesn’t end here, as when I got married I wanted to capture the memories of my special day and once again called upon Toni! My husband and I had our hands cast as we held hands, with our rings on show. Toni also cast my bouquet which I had dried, and added a picture and name plaque to complete the design.
After having my fourth and final child, I called upon Toni yet again to come and collect the castings of my daughter’s hands and feet. Although my little one was less tolerant than my boys, Toni was so good with her, which made the experience easier for me as a mum.
So there you have it, my Tootsie Toes journey, and my framed sets look as good as new 11 years down the line. I am so grateful to have met Tootsie Toes, and thankful that they helped create special memorabilia which will be treasured forever.
